Apply for 2023-2024 With AmeriCorps

If you’ve never heard of AmeriCorps,  it’s a way for people 18 years and older to serve in their community for up to a year. During their service, they will gain professional and technical skills, may receive a modest living allowance, and may receive healthcare and childcare benefits.   Once an AmeriCorps Member completes their term of service, they are eligible to receive an education award that can pay for school or pay off student loans.

Who can apply to utilize AmeriCorps? Community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, institutions of higher education, or governmental entities like school districts, municipalities, and governmental agencies. Who may not use AmeriCorps? Individuals, for-profit business, or organizations not in good standing with the federal government or the state of Missouri are not eligible to apply. Successful applications will recruit, train, place, and supervise AmeriCorps members who will serve anywhere from 100 to 1,700 hours in a community with the goal of alleviating or eliminating a defined community need. 

Here are the Benefits for members along with the satisfaction of creating an environment of serving, for the good of the community.

AmeriCorps members may receive a living allowance and other benefits while serving. Upon successful completion of their service, members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award from the National Service Trust that can pay for higher education expenses or be applied to qualified student loans. This is a three-year competitive grant that will be continued through application each year.
