Metal and punk will join forces this spring when Baroness and Against Me! hit the road together on a co-headlining tour.
The joint outing will launch May 1 in Detroit, and comes to a close May 30 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 28 at 10 a.m. local time.
As Baroness frontman John Baizley explains, his band first met Against Me! around 2004 or 2005. Baroness’ touring vehicle had broken down in Against Me!’s hometown of Gainesville, Florida, and the punk band stopped to help out the young metallers.
“After hearing our troubles, and without a moment’s hesitation, they helped an out-of-town band of strangers fix their vehicle and get back out on the road,” Baizley says. “From that day forward, I’ve had a profound respect for the band…we cannot wait to get on tour with them.”
