Coldplay has premiered the video for “Champion of the World,” a track off the band’s new album, Everyday Life.
In the clip, frontman Chris Martin is a kid again, dealing with bullies at school and arguing parents. Luckily, he’s able to use his power of imagination to escape into a magical world.
“The video is about this magic power that kids have to switch off from reality and jump into their own world,” says director Cloé Bailly.
You can watch the “Champion of the World” video now on YouTube.
In other Coldplay news, the band just released an acoustic EP titled Coldplay Reimagined, exclusively on Apple Music last week. The collection includes stripped-back performances of the Everyday Life songs “Champion of the World,” “Cry Cry Cry” and “BrokEn.”
Everyday Life, the follow-up to 2015’s A Head Full of Dreams, was released last November.
