City of Galesburg Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire on Enterprise Drive

The Galesburg Fire Department battled a blaze at 1033 Enterprise Drive on Tuesday night. According to information provided by the City of Galesburg, the Galesburg Fire Department responded to a general Fire Alarm at 1033 Enterprise Drive in Galesburg at approximately 7:28 PM on Tuesday. The response included all three stations and 11 personnel on duty. At the scene, smoke was seen emanating from a large self-contained trash compactor and the building next to it. g. Battalion Chief Donald Brackett established Command and the Central Station crew made entry into the 200,ooo square foot warehouse with an attack line. Thermal imaging equipment was used to determine the location of the fire as it was greatly obscured by the heavy smoke. A sprinkler system in the warehouse structure had kept the fire from growing far worse, keeping it contained to the area inside and immediately around the trash compactor. No one was injured in the fire while fire investigators estimated the damages to be in the range of $10,000. Fire investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
