
MACOMB, IL – The Macomb Public Works Department has announced that the 2022 Road Improvement Project has been scheduled to begin on August 22, 2022.
Streets being repaved during this project include:
- Dudley Street
- West Calhoun Street
- West McDonough Street
- West Piper Street
- West Murray Street
- North Charles Street,
- East Franklin Street
- North East Street
- East Wheeler Street
- North White Street
During the City Council meeting on May 2nd, the Council approved $1,494,642.02 in ARPA funds to be used on Public Works projects, with a sizable portion of that to be used for much needed road improvements throughout Macomb.
Public Director Alice Ohrtmann has indicated that additional road improvements will be completed Summer 2023 with the remaining funds being used to supplement revenue from the Infrastructure Sales Tax.
The Public Works Department is compiling a list of roads to be included in the next phase of the project that will be
submitted to City Council for approval.
Temporary traffic disruptions are to be expected while the paving crews are working.
