
Hancock County, IL– Hancock County Sherriff Scott Bentzinger announced the arrest of 35-Year-old Cole Hamelton of Carthage, IL on charges of Custodial Sexual Misconduct.
At the request of the Sherriff, Illinois State Police conducted an investigation into allegations of Custodial Sexual Misconduct between Hamelton, a correctional officer at Hancock County jail, and a female inmate.
Hamelton was arrested on Oct. 11th and per his bail hearing, will be held on $100,000 bail.
Hamelton is set to go to court Oct. 24th and is currently being held in McDonough County Jail.
All subjects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
