Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore was our guest on Tuesday's edition of People to People and stated that he felt that City Councilman Mike Yaklich was bullying City Manager Gary Bradley during his comments at Kewanee City Council Meetings. The Mayor also claimed that other City of Kewanee Department heads had felt similarly that they had been bullied by Councilman Yaklich. On Wednesday's edition of People to People, Councilman Yaklich responded to the Mayor's claims… 

When confronted about other accounts of his alleged bullying by City of Kewanee Department heads, Councilman Yaklich appeared surprised by the allegations before explaining a situation in which his actions could have been interpreted as bullying… 

This led to the question of whether or not Councilman Yaklich felt it was appropriate for a City Council Member to bypass the City Manager and speak directly to City of Kewanee staff… 

Councilman Yaklich then made the charge that City Staff had been placed under a gag order and were being instructed not to speak to members of the Council with a potential penalty of losing their job… 

WKEI has reached out to Kewanee City Manager Gary Bradley for comment regarding the alleged gag order and will update this story as information becomes available.
