Hancock County, IL–On Saturday, August 7, 2019 at approximately 12:10am a Hancock County Sheriff's Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Illinois Highway 96 just outside of Dallas City after a vehicle was seen passing in a no passing zone. As the Deputy was attempting to stop the vehicle, objects were observed coming out of the passenger side window.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Daniel Jackson, 44 year old male of Dallas City, Illinois. Deputies searched the area where the objects were seen coming from the vehicle and located a plastic bag containing methamphetamine, cash, and other items.
Jackson was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine (class 3 felony). Jackson was released from the Hancock County Jail on his own recognizance following a bond hearing.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
