As the inspiration for a Donovan rock classic, a member of the Beatles‘ entourage in India and the ex-wife of Fleetwood Mac‘s Mick Fleetwood, you could say Jenny Boyd‘s seen some stuff — and she’s going to tell fans all about it in her new memoir.
Jennifer Juniper: A Journey Beyond the Muse will be published March 26, and she’ll officially launch the book at the New York Metro Fest for Beatles Fans, aka BeatleFest, the weekend of March 27 in Jersey City, N.J.
As you may have guessed from her surname, Jenny is the younger sister of Pattie Boyd, George Harrison‘s first wife who went on to marry Eric Clapton. She inspired Donovan’s 1968 single, “Jennifer Juniper,” which he wrote about her before they both accompanied the Beatles on their famous trip to India to study transcendental meditation with the Maharishi. A promising young model, Jenny also worked at the Beatles’ Apple Boutique in London.
Jenny married Mick Fleetwood in 1970 after first meeting him as a teenager; they had two children. They divorced in 1975, but then temporarily remarried to help their kids emigrate to the U.S and then divorced a second time.
All those experiences and more are featured in Jennifer Juniper. Jenny, who currently has a Ph.D in human behavior, is now an author who speaks on the subjects of musicians and creativity.
