August 15
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Exchange Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined to be an accidental mis dial.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West Division Street for a loose dog complaint. Officer checked the area and was not able to locate.
Officer followed up on a bicycle that had been left at Wiley Park several months ago and had been taken home by a different child. It was located and returned to it’s original owner.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 1 st Street to assist Bureau Co with delivering a message that the subject was being banned from a gas station in Neponset after a disturbance.
Officer met with a subject at the PD to take a report in reference to a battery that occurred while the complainant was intoxicated several days earlier.
Officer was dispatched to Sentry Estates for a loose dog complaint. The dog was captured by it’s owner and taken home.
Officer was dispatched to assist Stark Co with attempting to locate a motorist and check their welfare, due to possibly being suicidal. Stark Co was able to make phone contact with subject.
August 16
Officer was dispatched to a 2 vehicle accident at the intersection of SW 2 nd Street and SW 6 th Ave. There were no citations issued and no injuries reported.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4 th Street for a complaint involving subjects yelling near their residence. Officer checked the area, but was not able to locate anyone.
August 17
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of South Center Ave for a trash dumping complaint.
Officer was dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of SW 3 rd Street.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NW 1 st Street for a complaint involving a violation of an order of protection. A report was forwarded to the State’s Attorney’s office for review.
Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of SE 6 th Street for a 9-1-1 hang up call. This location has a cell phone tower.
August 18
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 4 th Street for a property line dispute.
Officer was advised of a controlled burn that was taking place in the 300 block of NE 9 th Street.
Officer located a turtle crossing the roadway near the high school. The turtle was re-located to Sportsman’s lake.
August 19
Officer was advised about a car vs bicycle accident with very minor injuries on North Center Ave. A juvenile rode their bicycle into the side of a passing car. No citations were issued.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Street for a theft complaint.
Officer recognized a wanted subject in the 500 block of SE 2 nd Street. As the result, Drew Maxwell, 27, Altona, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for failing to appear on several traffic offenses. He was taken to the Henry Co jail.
Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of NW 8 th Street for a civil property dispute.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 1300 block of SE 2 nd Street, John Vervynck, 36, Kewanee, was arrested for operating a vehicle with registration suspended and for operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
August 20
Officer spoke to a business in the 300 block of Front Street about closing times due to patrons still present after hours.
As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of SE 1 st Ave, Mary Booth, 38, Galva, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a BAC over .08%, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, disobeying a stop sign, and possession of a controlled substance. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 600 block of NW 5 th Street for a stolen bicycle complaint. The bicycle ultimately had been left at Wiley Park last week and had been turned into City Hall. It was returned.
Officer assisted Henry Co with a traffic stop east of town on Route 34 involving a car with 7 occupants.
Officer was dispatched to the 00 block of SW 4 th Ave for several calls involving possible gunshots. The Galva officer, along with several Henry Co deputies, searched the area and were not able to find any suspects or any damage.
Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of NW 1 st Ave for a possible prowler report after a resident heard “knocking” on their windows. Officer checked the area, but didn’t locate anyone.
August 21
Officer was dispatched to check welfare on a subject in the 500 block of NW 8 th Street. Nobody was home.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of NW 6 th Ave for a complaint involving neglected animals.
Officer spoke to the owner, who showed the animals had food, water, and shelter.
Officer was dispatched to the area of SW 4 th Street and SW 4 th Ave for a reckless driving complaint.
Officer located a young child walking unattended in the downtown area. After an investigation, a parent was located. As the result, Julie Weir, 37, Galva, was arrested for endangering the life or health of a child. She was released with a required court date.
Officer was dispatched to the 300 block of NE 2 nd Street for a child custody dispute.
Officer was dispatched to assist Knox Co with a physical domestic disturbance at a residence several miles south of Galva.
Officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of NW 3 rd Ave for a reckless driving complaint.

Richard Carlson, 36, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket for having junk on his property in the 700 block of North Center Ave.
Jessica Ince, 37, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket for having junk on her property in the 1200 block of NW 3 rd Ave.
Wyatt King, 18, Galva, was issued citations for operating an off highway motorcycle on the roadway and not having a motorcycle endorsement on his drivers license in the 100 block of NW 6 th Ave.
August 19
Cody McDonley, 30, Galva, was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign in the 100 block of SE 1 st Street.

Tanner Conover, 25, Kewanee, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 200 block of SE 2 nd Street.
Jose Pagan-Rivera, 51, Youngstown, Ohio, was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign in the 100 block of SE 6 th Ave.
Michael Ensley, 26, Kewanee, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 200 block of NW 3 rd Ave.
Mark Becht, 56, Cambridge, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 100 block of Chester Street.
