Diet alert… Girl Scout cookies are just about ready to be sold by area troops. The Girl Scouts will start hitting the streets and setting up shop this weekend in many locations to begin the annual tradition. Maurielle Pierson with the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois says the process of selling cookies is more than just getting sweet treats into the hands of neighbors and others.
Girl Scouts will be holding a pre-sale of Girl Scout Cookies at the Flemish American Club on Saturday as part of the Kewanee Friends of the Animals Fine Arts and Craft Show from 9 Am to 2 Pm. Boxes will be delivered next week. Even though these cookies are sold for just a few months a year, the Girl Scouts say the thin mint is the second highest selling cookie in the nation behind the Oreo.
