Governor Pritzker Discussing Spending Cuts if Progressive Tax is Not Passed in November

As Governor J.B Pritzker prepares to give his budget address, the message appears to revolve around the potential change of the Illinois tax system from the current Flat Tax to a so-called Progressive Tax, an idea that is on the ballot for the November 2020 election period. Governor Pritzker's office is indicating that if a Progressive Tax plan is not passed in November, the state could be headed toward reductions in spending that will affect services across the state.
