Illinois State Police Cold Case Featured on National Television

A famed Illinois State Police cold case is being featured on national television. The disappearance and subsequent murder of Lindsay Harris in May of 2005 is getting the Investigation Discovery treatment. Harris was just 23 year old when she was last seen alive in a Henderson, Nevada bank. She went missing and for three years no one knew what had happened. Then, in 2008, a group of children near the town of Divernon, Illinois made a horrifying discovery. What the kids found was a human leg. They immediately fled the scene to contact their parents and the authorities, who arrived at the scene and soon after located a second leg. DNA analysis confirmed the identity of Lindsay Harris…

Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Zone 4 investigators immediately went to work but with no leads, the case went cold. More than a decade after the grisly discovery, a friend of Lindsay Harris, one John Walsh, is bringing her back to the headlines. Walsh, famed for the investigation of the disappearance of his son and for his efforts on behalf of victims on his TV show, America's Most Wanted, is bringing Harris's case back to life via his Investigation Discovery channel series "In Pursuit with John Walsh. The episode is called "A Personal Mission" and it is because before her disappearance, John Walsh knew Lindsay Harris because his son, and producing partner, Callahan Walsh, was a childhood friend of Harris. The episode of In Pursuit with John Walsh, which features interviews with two current and one retired member of the Illinois State Police investigator, airs on February 17th on Investigation Discovery. The public is asked to contact the ISP DCI Zone 4 office at (309) 693-5015 with any information about this case.
