Irving School Third Graders Create Hundreds of Valentine’s For Vets

Third Graders at Irving School in Kewanee created more than 110  Valentine's for Veterans. On Thursday afternoon, Katie Hoffman from the office of Representative Cheri Bustos joined WKEI at Irving School in Kewanee to meet the kids and collect the more than 110 Valentine's the kids made as part of a program that Representative Bustos has made an annual tradition. With the contribution from the kids at Irving School, more than 1000 Valentine's were distributed on this Valentine Friday to nursing homes, American Legion Posts and VFW's across the 17th District. Thank you for your hard work and generosity kids! The tree in this photo was a gift to the school for Christmas and it is now a special part of the decoration at Irving School as it is being dedicated for holidays all year long including Valentine's Day and, up next, St Patrick's Day.
