There are only 2 items on the agenda for the Kewanee City Council Meeting for Monday, February 24th, 2020. The meeting will get underway in council chambers at Kewanee City Hall at 7 Pm. The meeting will be streamed live on the WKEI Facebook page at that time, 7 Pm. 

a) Consideration of a Resolution #5201 to award a contract to Kirk Dana Construction to
demolish all buildings on the lot located at 810 May St.

b) Consideration of an Resolution #5202 to ratify and authorize the expenditure of funds to
make emergency repairs to the 20” influent force main at the wastewater treatment plant and
declaring that this resolution shall be in full force immediately

 

Repairs at the Waste Water Treatment Plant will be addressed tonight with the City of Kewanee likely to approve a contract with Quad City Directional Boring for $87,000 to install a new valve. Several local contractors will also be in on the job in other areas of the fix including Dooley Brothers and Ratliff Brothers. The $87,000 bid from Quad City Directional Boring was one of three received for the new valve and was what City staff referred to as the lowest responsible bid.
