Kewanee Man Arrested for DUI While Helping Son Escape After Attempting to Pet a Bison

28 year old Douglas Lounsberry of Canton, Illinois, just wanted to know what it would be like to pet a bison when he jumped a fence at Buffalo Rock State Park near Ottawa over the weekend. Lounsberry was spotted by park police on the wrong side of a fence just before 4 Pm on Saturday afternoon. Upon being seen trespassing, Lounsberry is reported to have leaped back over the fence and into the waiting vehicle of his father, 47 year old James Poppenhager of Kewanee. The two were pulled over by Conservation Police just outside the park. Lounsberry was cited for Obstructing Identification while Poppenhager was arrested for DUI. Poppenhager has a court date of March 10th
