The Fighting Leathernecks host UT Martin tonight as they seek their very first win of the season.
This will be the third time both teams meet as UT Martin leads the series 2-0. During their first encounter on November 18, 2003, UT Martin destroyed WIU 96-67. Their most recent encounter on November 21, 2018, was a lot closer match as the final score of the game was 92-90. Playing against UT Martin a third time might give the Leathernecks the confidence they need to beat them.
WIU’S last game against Stetson on Saturday resulted in a 77-75 loss as Zion Young had a career-high of 24 points. After being just short of victory, the Leathernecks are still hungry for their first win of the season. They get to host back to back home games within a 5 game span. The intensity from the crowd and the Fighting Leathernecks drive to win at home should put them over the top for their first win of the season.
