Listen to new Gorillaz track, “Désolé”

Gorillaz has premiered a new song called “Désolé,” the latest installment in the cartoon band’s Song Machine series.

The fresh tune — which translates to “sorry” in French — features Malian musician Fatoumata Diawara, and is sung in three languages: English, French and Bambara, the national language of Mali.

“Désolé” is available now for digital download, and you can watch its accompanying video, starring Diawara, Damon Albarn and all the virtual Gorillaz members, now on YouTube.

Gorillaz launched Song Machine late last month with the track “Momentary Bliss,” featuring rapper slowthai and punk duo Slaves. The ongoing project promises to include an “ever-evolving roster of as-yet-unannounced collaborators.”

Song Machine follows the 2018 Gorillaz album, The Now Now.
