Macomb man Charged in Walmart Altercation

Macomb, IL–43-year-old Duane Gosa was charged with Aggravated

Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Assault after a stabbing incident at Walmart yesterday morning.

 

Macomb Police Officers were dispatched to Walmart, 1730 E

Jackson St, in reference to Gosa attacking a Walmart employee with a knife.

 

Upon arrival, Officers were able to determine that Gosa and the Walmart employee had

been involved in an altercation in the restroom prior to police arrival. The employee exited the

restroom. Gosa exited a short time later and confronted the employee a second time. According

to video of the incident, Gosa took the employee to the ground and was threatening him with a

knife. At one-point Gosa can be seen sitting on the employee’s chest as the employee is laying on

the ground. The employee sustained two cuts to his left arm and chest along with multiple

bruises.

 

Officers were able to take Gosa into custody after a short struggle. The employee, who will remain unamed, was transported to McDonough District Hospital for treatment.
