Captain Clark N. Stratton, commanding officer, Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the Missouri State Highway Patrol is conducting a Community Alliance Program at Troop H Headquarters beginning Tuesday, September 20, 2022. The classes will meet from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings at the Troop H Headquarters in St. Joseph, and end with an awards banquet on Tuesday, October 18. The mission of the Community Alliance Program is to provide personal interaction between area citizens and the Patrol. The program is designed to allow the public to learn more about the Patrol’s purpose and role within the law enforcement community. Successful completion of the program will require attendance at each Tuesday evening session (one absence will be allowed with prior approval from the program coordinator). The Class will cover Patrol policies and procedures, utilizing teaching techniques similar to the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City. These sessions will cover traffic stops, firearms familiarization, marine operations, and many other aspects of the Patrol. There is no cost to participate in the program. Selection of the 20 participants will be on a first come, first served basis and will be made following an evaluation of an application form and a criminal record check. The Patrol is accepting applications for the Community Alliance Program through September 6, 2022. . Anyone interested in or seeking further information about the program is encouraged to contact Sergeant Shane Hux at (816) 387-2344 ext. 3847. The public can apply to attend the program on the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s webpage www.statepatrol.dps.mo.gov and click on the Services icon.
