Motorist indicted for incident during unsanctioned car rally last year

A Cape May County grand jury handed an indictment down on a motorist for his role in an accident last year that left a man with serious injuries. 23-year old Eryk Wnek of Linden was among the motorists who attended an unsanctioned pop-up car rally last September 24 in Wildwood. Wnek allegedly was speeding while doing a burnout in his BMW when he struck a sedan on Rio Grande Avenue. The impact caused Wnek’s vehicle to then spin into a golf cart occupied by the victim. The resulting impact caused the victim to suffer from a brain bleed and broken bones including his vertebrae, collarbone, ribs and kneecap. Wnek is scheduled to be back in court later this month on the charges,
