Annabelle (Ann) Lantz (95) of Macomb died at 7:20pm on November 11, 2023 at her home in Macomb.

She was born June 2, 1928 in Macomb, IL to Roll and May Kribble Barry. She married James Lantz on August 27, 1954. Ann is survived by two daughters, Deb (John) McCarver of Springfield, IL and Kris (Scott) Lantz-Kaufman of Jacksonville, IL; three grandchildren, Julien (Kelton) Kaufman of Saint Lous, MO; C.G. (Jody) McCarver-Lowery of Arkansas, and Dana McCarver (Shayne) of Springfield; one great-grandson, Dexter Lowery of Arkansas; and one great-granddaughter, London Lowery of Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and seven brothers.

After graduating from Macomb High School, Ann worked for Marybill Florists as a floral designer for several years. After her daughters were in school, she worked part-time for Newells Women’s Wear, Scripps-Reno, and Nelsons Men’s Wear, retiring in 2004.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Macomb Chapter O.E.S. #123. She was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb, where she had served as an usher and greeter.

Ann was cherished for her quick wit, radiant style, and constant proclivity to sing. She relished in every opportunity to celebrate others; when she wasn’t sending greeting cards, she was shopping for Christmas gifts in the middle of the summer. She enjoyed making floral arrangements and wreaths for herself and friends. Ann always had a wreath and other decorations on her front door, which she changed for every season and holiday.

Ann had a great love for all people, especially her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She shared a true and enduring love with Jim Lantz for 8 years of engagement and 64 years of marriage. Together, they were renowned pillars of support for their community and extended family.
