Clifford Clyde Shipman, 87, of Blandinsville passed away at 7 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on June 15, 1935 in Webster, Illinois to Cecil and Margie Klossing Shipman, Sr. He married Martha Jeanne Butterfield on June 17, 1956. She passed away on July 13, 2014.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl Shipman and Henry Shipman and one sister. Millie Lewis.

Clifford is survived by two daughters, Valerie Shipman and Pam Shipman, both of Blandinsville; one son, Jeff Shipman of Blandinsville; six grandchildren, Chris (Mandi) Shipman, Matt Whitaker, Roy Fugate, Lance (Breanne) Foster, Heather (Shaun) Smith and Cassandra Macan; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Cecil Shipman, Jr. and two sisters, Shirley Gorrell and Carolyn Read.

He served in the Army Reserves. He worked for NTN-Bower for over 36 years before his retirement

Clifford lived in Blandinsville for the last 62 years where he was a member of the American Legion and the Blandinsville-Hire Fire and Rescue Department. He also repaired small engines.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville with Pastor Nathan McCarter officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice or Blandinsville-Hire Fire and Rescue Squad.
