Danny Lee Furniss, 75, of Bushnell, Illinois passed away at 2:32 PM on Thursday May 18, 2023 at his residence. He was born July 24, 1947 in Macomb, IL to Gale E. and Irma J. (Knott) Furniss. He married Karen Yvonne Croxton in Bushnell, IL on December 19, 1970. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Danielle (William) Sherrod of Grove City, OH; Daren Furniss of Bushnell, IL; four grandchildren, Wyatt and Ciena Furniss, Logan and Gabrielle Sherrod, one great-grandchild Mason Furniss and one brother, Tom (Mae) Furniss of Bushnell, IL.

 

Danny graduated from Bushnell Prairie City High School in 1965. Following graduation Danny joined the United States Airforce serving from 1966 through 1970. Danny served in the Aircraft Maintenance division and was deployed to Vietnam from 1968 through 1969. He was a member of Prairieland Open Bible Church, the Bushnell American Legion and the Bushnell VFW Post 1422. Danny had quite the passion for automobiles and motorcycles especial anything vintage. When he was a younger man, he enjoyed working on cars, he even built a car in his backyard when he was only fifteen. Danny was a family man, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, he loved his wife Karen and truly appreciated all her support. Danny was a little bit of a jokester and a funny man, but he was also very generous, kind and friendly to anyone he encountered. Without hesitation Danny and Karen willingly open their home to many family and friends throughout the years to those in need.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday May 23, 2023 at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with full Military Rites. Visitation will be held on Monday May 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM also at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home. Following services Cremation Rites will be accorded.
