Delores A. “Dee” Seyller, 90, of Kewanee, died at 9:40 p.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023 at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.

A Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 3 at Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee. Celebrant will be Fr. Ghislain Inai, Sma. Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 2 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with recitation of the rosary at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Visitation Catholic School.

She was born January 30, 1933 in Kewanee, the daughter of Cleo and Minnie (Ogburn) Osborne. She married Milton B. “Milt” Seyller on May 10, 1952 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2016. Survivors include her five children, Annette (Tom) DeMay of Sheffield, Michael Seyller (Mark Cox) of Raleigh, NC, Marty (Jeanne) Seyller of Downers Grove, IL, Joe (Jill) Seyller of Kewanee and Mary Fairfield of Champaign, IL, a daughter-in-law, Pat Seyller of Monroe City, MO, ten grandchildren, Zach (Jessie) DeMay, Jessica (Brad) Strouss, Hannah (Nick) Currier, Emily (Nick) Hauser, Julia Seyller, Terese Fairfield, Brooke (Tyler) Apland, James Fairfield and his fiancé Emma and Steven and Samuel Shattuck, nine great grandchildren; Jocelyn, Dominick, Graham, Harper, Camden, Audra, Kane, Magnolia and Charlie and one on the way and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son, Bernie, three brothers; Robert, Francis and Wilbur and two sisters, Lois Bennett and Joan Granneman.

Dee graduated from Kewanee High School in 1951. She had worked at Abilities Plus. She was a member of Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee and its Altar and Rosary Society and had also taught CCD, was Eucharistic Minister and was the Religious Education Coordinator at the church. She volunteered at Visitation Catholic School for 25 years where she was affectionately known as Grandma Dee. She was honored as an “Honorary Giant” by Visitation Catholic School in 2015 and received a 25-year service award for her service to the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and was a member of the prayer group and Tuesday bible group at Courtyard Estates. Most of all, she thoroughly enjoyed time spent with her family.
