Idella “Della” Miller, of Macomb, Illinois beloved wife, mother and grandmother went home to meet her Lord and Savior on August 14, 2022, at the age of 83.

Della was born to Orville and Eloise Coates August 21, 1938 in New Canton, Illinois.

She met the love of her life, Richard Miller from Macomb, Illinois and they were married February 28, 1959.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Carl, Dean and Harold Coates.

Della is survived by her husband of 63 years, three sons, Brian and his wife Mary Joy of Centerton, Arkansas, Greg and his wife Kari of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, and Lance of Omaha and five grandchildren, Ashley, Christian, Erin, Zachary and Mackenzie Joy.

Della was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Macomb, Illinois serving and volunteering for over 47 years.

After raising the three boys Della went to beauty school, obtained her license and opened up her own shop at home which she ran for over 20 years until her retirement in 2000.

Della enjoyed all kinds of sports. She loved playing tennis. She played second base on a slow pitch softball team for several seasons and was also a member of the bowling league for a number of years.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb with Charlie Cox officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice or St. Jude’s.
