Fredric “Fred” C. Hanson, 81, of Kewanee, died Saturday, June 11, 2022, at his home. Fred was born December 14, 1940, in Kewanee, the son of Henning and Mary (Chambers) Hanson. Fred attended Kewanee High School, graduating with the class of 1959. Fred married Janice M. Gruszeczki on August 19, 1961, at Saint Stanislaus Church, Kewanee; she survives.

Fred is also survived by two sons, Todd (Norma) Hanson, Downers Grove, Tim (Courtney) Hanson, Kewanee; granddaughters, Jessica, Sarah, Julia, Kayla; grandsons, David, Dalton, Peyton; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Hanson; and sister, Dixie Starkey.

Fred served in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1963. Fred worked for Hyster Corporation for 42 years. He enjoyed fishing. He especially enjoyed taking walks with Janice and spending time with his family.

Rosary will be at 4:30 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the funeral home. Private family burial will be at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council.
