
A Port Byron man was injured and then charged following a personal injury crash on Sunday. According to the Illinois State Police, 54 year old Darin Martin was traveling Eastbound on I-88 early Sunday morning when his vehicle left the roadway to the right and entered the Center median. From there, the vehicle crashed into a creek embankment, injuring the driver. At some point in the aftermath of the crash Martin attempted to leave the scene but in the end, he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Martin was then charged with Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash, Improper Lane Usage, Crossing a Designated Median and Disobeying a Controlled Devise for Designated Lanes.
