
Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is now accepting applications for the 2020 Abbie Jean Gunning Memorial Scholarship and the Harold Morine Scholarship.
Abbie Jean Gunning was the first Auxiliary President. The Morine Scholarship is an award bequeathed by Harold Morine in memory of his wife, Marilyn, who was a nurse at Perry Memorial Hospital. A total of four Abbie Jean Gunning Memorial Scholarships will be awarded and one Harold Morine Scholarship will be given.
Scholarships are available to recent high school graduates as well as advance degree candidates who have a permanent residence in Bureau County. Students must be pursuing healthcare career options related to hospital, clinical work including (but not limited to) nursing, radiology, lab technology, physical or occupational therapy and pre-med.
Applicants must prove a demonstration of academic achievement accompanied by high school or college transcripts, volunteer or work history and health related activities. Applicants must be planning to attend a post-secondary institution for a health career field of study.
To apply for either scholarship, interested students may obtain an application packet by visiting the Perry Gift Shop or online at perrymemorial.org to download a copy. Completed applications must be returned to Perry Memorial Hospital, attention Perry Gift Shop by 4 p.m. April 1, 2020. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award.
