The transfer of a liquor license failed this week in Cape May.  The Press of Atlantic City reports that a move to transfer the license from the Merion Inn to a new company that would service the Southern Mansion failed on a 2-1 vote in favor of the move, with one member absent and the mayor abstaining.  Alcohol would only have been served to guests with room keys.
