The Sterling Police Department announced on Monday they were searching for Samantha Jo Thomas and James W. Zacharias, both wanted on a Whiteside County Warrant for armed robbery.
Dixon Police say 26 year old James Zacharias of Sterling was arrested in the 2200 block of West 4th Street on Tuesday at 11:09 a.m. Zacharias was wanted for a Whiteside County Warrant for Armed Robbery, Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Warrant, Lee County Warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine, and an Ogle County Warrant for Failure to Appear on Drug Paraphernalia charge. Zacharias was taken to Lee County Jail.
Sterling Police had asked the public for assistance in finding Zacharias and a second person, Samantha Jo Thomas.
The two were wanted in connection to an incident that occurred on February 3 in Sterling where a male victim was robbed.
Samantha J. Thomas, 27 of Dixon, turned her self in to Sterling Police and was transfeered to the Whiteside County Jail.
