Former Mayoral opponents, Mike Yaklich and Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore had a testy exchange during council communications as Councilman Yaklich took his turn at the mic to make pointed references to the conduct of City of Kewanee business by City Manager Gary Bradley… 

 

Yaklich followed that statement with another challenging Mayor Gary Moore to provide answers that Councilman Yaklich claims are not being provided by the City Manager… 

 

In his response Mayor Moore directed Mr Yaklich to the most recent City Council information packet before stating that yes, he is aware of the City finances and that funds are currently in good shape… 

 

Mr Yaklich continued his comments toward Mayor Moore demanding answers as to whether meetings were being held with farmers to spread sludge from the Kewanee Waste Water Treatment plant which last year reached critical levels before being emptied and distributed at local farms. Mayor Moore assured Councilman Yaklich that discussions over Sludge Removal were ongoing. Tensions then arose over fines and fees accumunlated and paid for over the last fiscal year…
