Courtney Love has shared a tribute to Kurt Cobain to mark her 28th wedding anniversary with the late Nirvana frontman.

“28 years ago, we got married, in Honolulu, on Waikiki beach,” Love writes in an Instagram post alongside a photo of her and Cobain holding flowers on their wedding day.

“I recall feeling, deeply, delighted, dizzy, so in love, and knowing how lucky I was,” she continues. “This man was an angel. I thank him for looking out for me.”

Cobain and Love married on February 24, 1992, and their daughter, Frances Bean, was born that August. Cobain died two years later, in April 1994.

In her post, Love admits that “many parts of the last 28 years have been tortuous, chaotic and uphill.”

“But between Kurt’s strange amazing divinity, and the honor of a few true friends, the gift of desperation and sobriety, of a Higher power and of love, and of empathy, I’m here now,” the Hole vocalist writes.

“It’ll be OK…I see him on the shore,” Love concludes. “Rocking in the free world. My husband.”
