Three People Arrested for Burglary in Ottawa after Fleeing from Police

Three people arrested for a Burglary in Ottawa after fleeing from police on September 18, 2022. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in progress in the 3000 block of E 18th Road in Ottawa. Upon arrival, Deputies encountered an occupied vehicle which fled from police. The vehicle crashed at the intersection of E 18th and Etna Roads and the subjects fled on foot. Three subjects were taken into custody a short time later. The Ottawa Police Department and the Illinois State Police assisted with the apprehension. Randolf Jeffries, 47, of Chicago was charged with Armed Violence (Class X Felony) and Burglary (Class 2 Felony). Bond was set at $200,000 (10%). He posted bond on September 21st. Shavonne Turner, 47, of Chicago was charged with Burglary (Class 2 Felony). Bond was set at $50,000 (10%). Julie Lopez, 23, of Michigan City, IN, was charged with Burglary (Class 2 Felony). Bond was set at $50,000 (10%). The incident remains under investigation by the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office.
