The Princeton Tigers went on the road and lost 62-47 to the Kewanee Boilermakers in boys varsity basketball action Tuesday night at Brockman Gymnasium.
The Tigers played Kewanee close in the first quarter and trailed 11-8 going into the second. PHS took their only lead of the game 13-11 on a Jamie Reinhardt trey midway through the second quarter but the Boilers rallied for a 25-18 halftime advantage.
A high scoring third quarter saw Kewanee outscore the Tigers by 3 to lead 47-37 going into the final quarter. The closest Princeton could get in the fourth quarter was 8 at 52-44 but the Boilers held off the Tigers with the largest lead of the game being the final score.
The Tigers were led by Jamie Reinhardt's 15 points while the Boilermakers got double digit scoring from Niko Powe with 18 points and Kavon Russell with 17.
Kewanee also won the sophomore matchup 44-42.
