Tigers Fall To Fieldcrest In Regional Championship Game

The Princeton Tigers boys varsity basketball team had their season end on Friday night in the Chillicothe IVC Regional Championship game.  The Fieldcrest Knights got off to a hot start and took the win 78-65.

 

With the game tied at 10 in the first quarter, the Knights went on a 17-8 run to lead 27-18 going into the second.  Cory Land scored 18 points for Fieldcrest in the opening quarter.  The Tigers fell behind by 13 in the second and trailed 41-34 at halftime.

 

Fieldcrest's lead was cut to 7 in the third quarter at 46-39 but that was the closest the Tigers would get the rest of the game.  Princeton trailed 52-41 entering the fourth quarter and both teams put up a lot of points but the Knights outscored the Tigers 26-24 and held on for the win.

 

Fieldcrest was led by Jaxson Cusac-McKay who had 24 points and went 13 of 14 from the free throw line.  Cory Land also scored 24 for the Knights who advanced to the upcoming Princeton Sectional.

 

Wyatt Davis had a strong game for the Tigers, finishing with 21 points and Jamie Reinhardt added 17.  Princeton finishes with a 16 and 15 record.
