Fans of Optimus Prime and the Autobots will be excited to know that the new Transformers film, Transformers Rise of the Beasts will be opening in Kewanee on Friday. The Wanee Cinemas tells WKEI that the Transformers will open the newest chapter in their saga this Friday along with continuing showings of The Little Mermaid for another weekend. Anthony Ramos of Hamilton on Broadway’s original cast stars in Transformers Rise of the Beasts along with the voices of Michelle Yeoh, Pete Davidson and Ron Perlman.

The premise: Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet. When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction of Transformers known as the Maximals to save Earth.

Early reviews of Transformers Rise of the Beasts are somewhat positive about the flick. The film, as of Tuesday, June 6th, has a 72% positive ratings from critics on RottenTomatoes.com.
