After hearing from Superintendent Shane Kazubowski and FFA Program Director Kate Rashid at Monday night's Kewanee City Council Meeting, the council unanimously approved plans for a new Ag Learning space for Wethersfield Schools located at 218 East Garfield Street. Questions regarding parking, noise from potential farm equipment and the possible use of pesticides at the site were addressed with Wethersfield promising to be good neighbors to the surrounding community.

When the vote was called for, Councilmen Colomer, Faber and Yaklich each voted in favor. Mayor Gary Moore in casting the final vote, in opposition, stated that he was voting on the will of the people he spoke with in the neighborhood…

Plans will be moving forward for Roadhouse Properties to build and lease a bar on the location at 801 North East Street.
