Whiteside County Barn Quilt Trail

Rock Falls Tourism is looking for submissions for the Whiteside County Barn Quilt Trail for the Spring of 2020. The barn quilt trail started in 2001 in Adams County, Ohio and has grown throughout the United States ever since. A barn quilt trail is a collection of quilt blocks that individuals place on barns, homes, sheds, and sides of buildings that can be easily viewed from the road as people drive by. These works of art have brought serious tourism boosts to rural communities. The barn quilts can vary in size – 2’x2’, 4’x4’, and 8’x8’. Rock Falls Tourism is looking for barn quilts throughout the Whiteside County area for the trail. Submit your application for approval and once approved your submission is put on the trail map. When the Whiteside County Barn Quilt Trail is complete, we will have brochures throughout Whiteside County and also the trail will be on our www.visitrockfalls.com website page. Go to our Facebook page – Whiteside County Barn Quilt Trail for examples of barn quilts. For an application and/or further information email: [email protected] or call 815-622-1100, ext. 1133. In order to make the Whiteside County Barn Quilt Trail successful, we need at least 24 approved barn quilts. SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN MARCH 31, 2020.
