
On May 28, 2023 at approximately 11:24 p.m. uniformed patrol officers of the Wildwood Police Department initiated a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Maple and Atlantic Avenues.
During the motor vehicle stop, evidence of the presence of a firearm was observed in plain view inside the cabin of the stopped vehicle. At that moment, all five occupants were instructed to exit the vehicle.
Three of the five occupants identified as 18-year-old Michael Logue of Eddystone, PA 19-year-old Corey Caffo of Brookhaven, PA, and 19-year-old Jaquan Cambridge-Stokes of Crum Lynne, PA, were found to be in possession of loaded handguns on their person.
The vehicle, a 2021 red in color four door Kia Forte was towed back to police headquarters and held for evidentiary safe keeping. Michael Logue was found to be in possession of a .22 caliber Pathfinder revolver handgun. Corey Caffo was found to be in possession of an untraceable (Ghost Gun) .9mm semi-automatic handgun bearing no serial number. Jaquan Cambridge-Stokes was found to be in possession of a .9mm semi-automatic Glock 26 handgun. All three weapons were safely recovered and submitted as evidence.
As a result of this investigation, the defendants were charged with the following 2nd degree Possession of a Weapon without a Permit to Carry and 4th degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Caffo received an additional charge for 3rd degree Possession of an Untraceable Firearm.
All three defendants were incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center in accordance with the Attorney General Guidelines, promulgated in connection with the Criminal Justice Bail Reform Policies and Directives. The defendants were charged after a finding of probable cause and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
