
MACOMB, IL –Western Illinois University has announced that the WIU School of Agriculture and the University Union Board will be holding the fourth annual Food. Family. Farming. Football BBQ competition on Saturday, September 17th during the tailgating ahead the football game against Southern Utah, WIU’s first home game of the season.
The event, which will be held in the Q-Lot on the Macomb campus, is part of the WIU Family Day event and will feature a barbecue ribs and brisket competition, where guests will be able to buy tickets to taste the entries while supplies last. There will also be activities for the whole family including a bags tournament and live music provided by the Devin Clemons Band, culminating with the awards presentation at 2:30 p.m.
Tasting tickets will be $4 each, two for $6, or four for $10, with optional packages that include tickets for the tasting and the WIU football game, as well as gold event t-shirts that match the theme for the game.
